Excite Extreme was Excite@Home's advanced technology group. Our mission was to incorporate
new technologies into next-generation web application prototypes. As a joint venture with Intel, we also explored applications
that required very fast processors.
Entry
In designing the entryway (main menu), we wanted to immediately communicate that Excite Extreme
was a "different kind of web." We used organic shapes and motions, along with a futuristic
feel, to provide a showcase for the Excite Extreme applications.
If you have Flash 4 or later installed, you can experience the entryway.

Virtual Fashion Show
The Macy's Passport Fashion Show is a yearly AIDS benefit staged by Macy's. Extreme
partnered with Shout3D to
design and build an application that let users interact with models on a runway.
Consumers could set backgrounds and lighting,
choose male or female models with various hair and skin colors, and select designers
and outfits. As the models walked down the runway, users could look at the clothes
from all angles, choose the way the models walked, and even ask the model to "strike a pose".
We managed to get all the options on one page and still make them understandable and fun to play with.

3D Holiday Shop
The creation of the 3D Holiday Shop was spurred by Intel's interest in online commerce. We used 3D to showcase and demonstrate an assortment of products. It was most successful
with the toys — it really adds something to hear Buzz say "To infinity and beyond"
and extend his wings.
